After decades now, India is conducting a mass adult vaccination drive for the first time for COVID-19. The last such time was in the 1960s and 1970s during the Smallpox eradication programme. The government health authorities have to plan the COVID-19 vaccination drive while ensuring that the universal immunisation programme for children is not hampered.
To understand more about organising the COVID-19 vaccination drive, the Suno India team spoke to Dr Suresh Dalpath, who works at Haryana’s State Health Systems Resource Centre, a technical arm of the health department. He looks after public health planning, monitoring, and evaluation for all public health issues, including COVID-19
