What is the Pollachi issue?

On February 25, a 19-year-old college student in Pollachi, a town in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore district, filed a complaint against a man for sexually harassing her. What unraveled from the complaint was a scandal where four men have been accused of using social media to befriend hundreds of women and then molesting them, allegedly since 2013.   The case received such little attention from national media, that on March 12, the Madras High Court came down heavily on Delhi-based media for 'lack of priority' over the case.
