The mid-March declaration of COVID-19 pandemic was accompanied by several changes in the zoos around the world. Same was the case with Nehru Zoological Park of Hyderabad. The staff of the Nehru Zoological Park found themselves spending more time with the animals, documenting the behavioural changes, and enjoying the calm that the lack of visitors offered. With over 50 new births, there was no end to work at the zoo. Our contributor Ayesha Minhaz set out to find more details of the times.
