Bihar is going for its second phase of polling tomorrow. In the first phase, which took place on October 28, a voter turnout of nearly 56 % was recorded. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Sunday said that the turnout in the first phase of the elections has made him confident of another term for the Nitish Kumar-led government.
For this episode of Election Nama, our guest podcaster Mahtab Alam speaks to two reporters, Shadab Moizee of The Quint and Basant Kumar of News Laundry, both of whom have been on the ground for nearly a month now. Unlike the Prime minister, they feel that the first phase seems to be favourably tilted towards the grand alliance and there is no wave for anyone. They also add that in the second phase, smaller parties and alliances are going to impact the elections result.
