Kashmir valley may be looking at yet another period of prolonged curfews due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Last week, Kashmir reported multiple COVID-19 cases including one in downtown Srinagar, one of the most congested parts of the city. Two days ago, multiple students who returned from Bangladesh were also quarantined in Srinagar.
What is the situation on ground for the frontline health workers? Are they well prepared to tackle a potential outbreak? Do they have the necessary equipments? Multiple reports claim that there are only 97 ventilators for 70 lakh people in Kashmir. In this episode, The Suno India Show reached out to two doctors from Kashmir valley. Dr Adil who works for SMHS, a tertiary hospital in Srinagar says they need more support and Dr Suhail Naik, President DAK (Doctors Association Kashmir), asks for full restoration of 4g services.
